They contain a higher percentage of peroxide than those you would use at home, and utilize an ultraviolet light to intensify the whitening process - allowing you to attain the whitening of teeth that you want within approximately one hour's time.
And, when applied by your dentist, you can be assured that the product will stay on on your teeth, where it belongs (as opposed to ending up on the gums, which could cause irritation). Finally: Though in-office whitening is perhaps the most costly method of dental bleaching, its superior effectiveness also delivers a longer-lasting result; this means saved money in potential repeat treatments.
Types of In-Office Teeth Whitening
There are several in-office whitening treatments, and each dentist espouses a preference. Corona cosmetic dentist Bruce Schutte, DDS favors SapphireTM Light One-Hour Whitening. "It can do dental bleaching of up to 12 shades in just one short visit," Dr. Schutte says, "and has been proven to whiten up teeth to 86 percent more than whitening gel alone."
